Sean McCormick studied photography in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, where he learned traditional analogue processes and developed an interest in alternative and historical photographic techniques. After graduating, he moved to New York City, where he worked as an assistant to renowned artist Andres Serrano (2011–2021), traveling nationally and internationally.

McCormick’s artistic practice explores themes of the occult, including reincarnation, past lives, and spiritual belief systems. He employs 19th-century photographic processes, drawn to their historical links to the paranormal and their distinctive rendering of form. The blue-only light sensitivity of these early emulsions produces ethereal, otherworldly tones that align with his interest in mysticism. Through this fusion of concept and technique, McCormick creates images that blur boundaries between material reality and metaphysical inquiry.
